What is Hemp Isolate?

Hemp Isolate is just another way of referring to cannabinoids isolated from the Hemp Plant. CBG Isolate is extracted from CBG rich hemp and thus some people call it Hemp Isolate instead of CBG Isolate.

All About CBG Isolate

CBG Isolate Review: CBG Isolated Cannabinoid User Reviews

CBG remains one of the most popular cannabinoids over the past years. Thanks to its unique features, it offers varieties of benefits and unique effects to its consumers. In this article, you will learn what CBG means, how it works, its benefits, its side effects, and its legal status.

What is CBG?

Cannabigerol, also known as CBG, is a cannabinoid compound found in hemp. It is often referred to as the mother of all cannabinoids due to its parental molecule to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and
cannabidiol (CBD). Unlike other cannabinoid compounds, CBG is often found in smaller quantities in plants. About 1% of CBG is found in plants when compared to 20% – 25% of CBD or 30% of THC. As a result, products derived from this cannabinoid substance are rare and usually expensive. This includes CBG Isolate.

CBG Isolate is the purest form of CBG. It is a pure white powder that has the highest potency of any CBG extract, usually over 98% CBG. Unlike other products that can give the associated high effect, CBG Isolate serves as an alternative form for those who do not want the high effect. When CBG is extracted into its purest form, its properties are distinct and offer a wide variety of benefits to the consumers. On most occasions, CBG is found in cosmetics. Other benefits include soft gels, pressed pills, and tinctures. Besides, researchers of preliminary studies have revealed how CBG can be a solution to varying health conditions affecting humans today.

What Products Are Made With It?

CBG is a non-intoxicating compound that is found in the hemp plant. It is often referred to as the mother of cannabinoids because all other cannabinoids are derived from CBG. The compound is often converted into two forms for those who want to consume it. First is the CBG oil that can be infused with other products and the CBG Powder. To get CBG Powder, the CBG oil is crystallized and grounded into powder form to obtain the final results. Other products derived from CBG include tinctures, vape carts, edibles, gummies, topicals, and more.

How CBG Works

The body’s endocannabinoid system processes CBG. The endocannabinoid system consists of molecules and receptors that are responsible for keeping the body in an optimal state despite the events happening in the external environment. Here, CBG imitates these endocannabinoid receptors in the body to fully perform its function. The cannabinoid receptors are of two types – the CB1 and CB2. The CB1 receptors reside in the brain and nervous system. Meanwhile, the CB2 receptors are found in the immune system and other areas of the body. CBG works with these receptors to strengthen the anandamide, a neurotransmitter that regulates sleep and appetite, enhances pleasure and motivation, and alleviates pain. Unlike other cannabinoids such as THC, CBG doesn’t have a psychotropic effect on the human body. Meaning, it doesn’t give a “high” effect.

Benefits of CBG

Like CBD and THC, some research has revealed the benefits of CBG on the human body. It has a non-intoxicating and therapeutic effect that helps humans. Besides, researchers have shown evidence of how this compound has a positive effect on animals as well. Some of these benefits include:

  • CBG May Help with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

Inflammatory Bowel Disease is a health condition that affects millions of individuals across the world. With this health condition, chronic inflammation affects the digestive tracts and the bowels. It includes ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. An experimental animal study in 2013 reveals how CBG reduces inflammation and the production of nitric oxide when administered to mice. It also reduced the development of reactive oxygen species in the intestines. At the end of the study, a general conclusion was made to clinically conduct an experiment that administers CBG to IBD patients.

  • CBG May Help with Bacterial Infections

A 2020 research shows that CBG Isolate contains strong antibacterial compounds that fight bacterial and fungal infections. For instance, it is effective in treating methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) which often causes drug-resistant staph infections that prove difficult to treat.

Also, CBG strengthens the immune system to fight against infections in the body. When combining CBG Isolate with oral and topical products, infections such as skin disorders (acne and psoriasis) are treated effectively.

  • CBG May Help with Huntington’s Disease

Huntington’s disease is a rare disease that causes the breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. A 2015 study shows how researchers tested CBD and other cannabinoids in mice having Huntington’s disease. The study revealed that CBG acted as a neuroprotective compound that prevents brain damage by protecting the nerve cells. Besides, it protects striatal neurons against 3-nitropropionic acid toxicity and improves motor deficits.

  • CBG May Help with Cancer

A 2014 study shows how CBG is effective in fighting cancerous cells. Here, it was observed that CBG blocked the receptors (TRPM8 channels) that support the growth of cancer cells and the production of colorectal cancer cells. Just like THC and CBD, CBG Isolate strengthens the immune system by building the body’s resilience even after treatments such as chemotherapy. The research also suggested the consideration of CBG in treating and preventing colon cancer.

  • CBG May Help with Bladder Dysfunction

A 2015 study reveals evidence that supports the use of CBG in treating bladder contractions. Out of all cannabinoids, the most effective substance in treating bladder dysfunction is CBG, followed by THCV, CBD, and CBDV.

  • CBG May Help with Appetite Stimulants

A 2016 research shows how CBG is effective in stimulating the appetite of rats. Rats induced with CBG ate two times more than other rats in the control group. The research further postulated how CBG can boost the appetite of chemo-induced, HIV, or other patients having appetite loss issues.

  • CBG May Help with Glaucoma

An animal study shows how CBG has healing effects in the treatment of glaucoma. Here, researchers examined cats suffering from glaucoma and induced them with CBG. They discovered that such action reduced intraocular eye pressure and enhanced the production of aqueous humor outflow by the eye. Aqueous humor outflow is a fluid that is produced by the eye to maintain eye pressure and improve nutrition in the eye.

  • CBG May Help with Depression and Anxiety

CBG helps in the production of anandamide, a neurotransmitter that helps to improve the human mood, alleviate pain, and increase pleasure. Also, CBG contains anti-depressant properties that work effectively in the long run by reducing anxiousness in the human body.

  • CBG May Improve Sleep

If any cannabinoid substance improves sleep, it is CBG. With CBG, the production of anandamide is triggered thereby promoting sleep in the human body. Also, the compounds embedded in the hemp plant serve as a sleep activator and help to treat insomnia.

  • CBG May Relieve Pain

CBG Isolate is an effective and potent analgesic substance that releases compounds to alleviate muscle tensions. It stimulates the body and relieves body pain through the production of compounds such as endocannabinoids and anandamide. Endocannabinoid and anandamide remain one of the most natural compounds produced by CBG isolate to relieve and reduce body pains.

How to Use CBG Isolate

The most prevalent form of CBG products is in their oil form. Although it is rare and expensive, it serves a unique purpose that other cannabinoid products don’t serve. It often comes in two forms – oil and powder. The powder form is derived after the CBG oil crystallizes and then is grounded. Once this is done, It gives no smell or taste and can be easily infused into other products. Some of these products include CBG edibles (gummies, brownies, cookies), CBG topicals, CBG soft gels, CBG tinctures, CBG nasal spray, and other CBG pharmaceuticals. Nonetheless, the best way to use CBG isolated is to place and hold the desired dose on the tongue for about a minute or two. Then, you can wash the sediments off with water.

How to Evaluate CBG Isolate for Quality

As a buyer or consumer who intends to have CBG Isolate for use, it is essential to understand how to evaluate the quality of the substance. This is necessary to prevent buying the wrong dose or squandering your hard-earned resources. To identify the quality of the products, ensure that it is made from a GMP-certified facility. GMP, which stands for good manufacturing practice, is a staple certification for various compounds, medications, and supplements manufactured in Europe and India. As long as your CBG Isolate compound is GMP certified, then you can buy as many as you want.

Side Effects of CBG Isolate

Although CBG is an effective substance with lots of benefits, there hasn’t been much information about its side effects. So far, most of the side effects concluded are based on the assumptions gotten from that CBD. In other words, as the side effects of CBD are being discovered in studies, so will CBGs. Hence, the solution to the perturbing problem is to devote time and increase investments into the scientific research of CBG and its effects on the human body. Nonetheless, different speculations have been postulated by people who use the products themselves. Here are some side effects revealed by those taking high doses of CBG.

  • Fatigue

Fatigue is a prominent side effect for people taking CBG Isolate. After all, one of the most popular reasons for taking cannabinoids is to sleep. As a result, one can have fatigue as general tiredness from consuming CBG Isolate. When consumed in high quantities, it can lead to extreme feelings of fatigue and grogginess. Hence, it is essential to consume the product at night or during leisure hours, especially when you are taking it for the first time. With this, you can easily take a nap or have a general rest when you feel tired.

  • Diarrhea

Individuals who consume high doses of CBG often end up with diarrhea. Why? The digestive tract, in most cases, doesn’t need high quantities of the compound. When one is consuming the product, it is better to avoid the edible form as it interacts directly with the digestive tract, thereby causing diarrhea. Other forms such as tinctures, nasal spray, or topicals are better for the digestive tract.

  • Dry Mouth

The consumption of cannabinoids often leads to dry mouth. However, this shouldn’t be mistaken for dehydration as people think. As individuals consume more CBG Isolate, the cannabinoid receptors in the salivary gland affect the production of saliva. Hence, if your mouth is dry after the consumption of the compound, it is best advised to take water. Also, you can simply wait for the compound to pass out until it is no longer active in your body system.

  • Appetite

People who consume cannabis often notice changes in appetite. Unlike other cannabinoids that suppress appetite, CBG works otherwise. It causes one to go hungry easily, thereby prompting them to eat more food. As long as the compound is active in the body system, the affected individual tends to consume more food. Besides, the higher the CBG isolate dose, the more food that will be consumed.

  • Weight Change

Since CBG Isolate boosts the appetite level of the consumer, there is a tendency for the person to witness a change in his weight. When the compound is consumed for a fairly long period, it tends to make the person gain more weight, rather than enhance metabolism.

Federal Legality of CBG

CBG Isolate is legal under Federal law. It is legal to produce, purchase, and use under the Agricultural Improvement Act (2018 Farm Bill). In this act, all hemp-derived cannabidiol products are legal as long as it is sourced from a hemp plant that carries no more than 0.3% THC. If the THC percentage is over 0.3, then it is no longer a cannabinoid. Instead, it is categorized as marijuana which is often under control by Schedule I of the CSA. Despite these laws, the FDA is yet to approve CBG as a legal drug. The organization forbids companies to market the compound as a supplement or food additive.

CBG Isolate: In Summary

CBG offers lots of benefits to the human body. However, if you are using it for the first time, it is advisable to start with a small dosage due to its side effects. Try out different products and enjoy the potential the compound will deliver.
